Vietnam is taking bold steps to strengthen its digital economy.

In July 2025, the government launched NDAChain, a national blockchain platform designed to protect data, fight fraud, and build trust in online transactions.

Weeks later, the Vietnam Blockchain and Digital Assets Association (VBA) announced a strategic partnership with KuCoin and 1Matrix to further expand blockchain use across the country.

Together, these initiatives show Vietnam’s ambition to become a leading blockchain hub in Asia.

What Is NDAChain?

NDAChain is Vietnam’s state-backed blockchain infrastructure

Instead of keeping all citizen and business data in one central database (which can be hacked or corrupted), NDAChain distributes information across a network of trusted organizations

This creates a system that is more transparent, harder to manipulate, and safer for sensitive information.

Key technical features of NDAChain, explained simply:

Layer 1 Blockchain
This is the “base layer” of the system, like the foundation of a building. Other apps and services (like identity tools or supply chain trackers) can be built directly on top of it.
Permissioned Blockchain
Unlike open blockchains (e.g. Bitcoin) where anyone can join, only approved entities (government agencies and trusted companies) run the NDAChain. This ensures higher security and regulatory control.
Proof of Authority (PoA)
Instead of thousands of anonymous computers competing to verify transactions, a smaller group of trusted “authorities” validate them. This makes the system much faster and cheaper to run, while still being secure.
Zero-Knowledge Proofs (ZKPs)
Imagine proving you’re over 18 without showing your actual ID or date of birth. That’s what ZKPs allow: verification without revealing personal data. This protects privacy while keeping transactions trustworthy.
Global Interoperability
NDAChain is designed to work with international standards like the EU’s GDPR. This means it can easily connect with global partners, making it useful for cross-border trade and compliance.

NDA DID: Vietnam’s Digital Identity System

On top of NDAChain, Vietnam is building NDA DID (Decentralized Identity), which will:

  • Give citizens a digital ID wallet they control themselves.

  • Allow businesses to issue traceable product IDs to prove authenticity.

  • Enable secure cross-platform logins for banking, e-commerce, and public services.

  • Support digital copyright by turning creative works into unique tokens (NFTs) tied to their creators.

This system ensures that identities, products, and digital content can all be verified securely and transparently.

KuCoin, VBA, and 1Matrix: Expanding the Ecosystem

In September, KuCoin (a leading global exchange) joined forces with the VBA and 1Matrix to support Vietnam’s blockchain rollout.

Their partnership focuses on:

  • Secure platforms for trading digital assets

  • Blockchain-powered payment systems

  • Digital identity solutions connected to NDAChain

  • Risk management tools to prevent scams and fraud

Here’s how the roles break down:

  • KuCoin brings global experience and advanced technology.

  • 1Matrix provides the local infrastructure and technical backbone.

  • VBA ensures policies and standards match Vietnam’s national strategy.

Why Businesses Should Care

Vietnam has launched NDAChain, a state-backed Layer-1 blockchain combining decentralized identity, supply chain tracking, and privacy-focused zero-knowledge proofs, aiming for nationwide digital trust and government integration by 2025.

Vietnam’s blockchain push isn’t just about government projects—it has real applications for companies:

  • Supply chain transparency → track goods from factory to customer to ensure authenticity.

  • Fraud prevention → stronger identity verification for online transactions.

  • Regulatory compliance → systems built with data privacy laws in mind.

  • Innovation opportunities → startups can build apps for payments, digital IDs, or anti-counterfeiting on NDAChain.

For international businesses working with Vietnam, this means a safer, more reliable digital environment for outsourcing, fintech, and e-commerce projects.
